<description>Elements 6 for Mac comes with its own set of problems and frustrations.
The trial version will almost certainly load in US English. When the trial period expires the screen advises to 'click here to buy'. My experience of trying this was Adobe online store replying 'not available go to a reseller'. Helpfully all Adobe Service phonelines work office hours only :-(
You can't buy the product key online (ie for immediate use), nor can you buy it by phone, you have to buy the boxed package. 2-3 days' delay. The code on the box cannot be entered against the trial version if you buy a UK box, probably because the trial was installed as US.
The 'get started' manual says 'follow the on screen installation instructions' but there aren't any as the DVD opens in a Finder window. Even running setup.app won't work and returns a Javascript error. You have to uninstall the trial version. Adobe's website (if you can find the page for the Mac rather than Windows) has instructions which don't work. The only way we could get this to install (thank goodness for iChat screen sharing!) was to drag all Adobe products (incl reader) to Trash, empty Trash, andthen install. Perversely although you need Reader (which is on the DVD) to read the pdf manuals, set up doesn't install Reader as well, you have to do that as a 2nd op.
Not too impressed - and now I'm trying to get the drivers/plug-ins for scanning. It won't work with the Scanning Software already installed for my two scanners, returning the message 'no acquire plug-ins present'.
I hope the product will be worth the hassle. I'm almost tempted to go back to the PC on Parallels and use Photoshop!</description>
